Well, it could have been worse. You could have taken the Greyhound Bus. I have known many passengers (myself included) who were so disgusted with everything that they got off of the bus and hitch-hiked the rest of the way to their destination, and got there alot quicker than if they had stayed on that dog.

Amtrak in Norfolk, Virginia - Website drove me insane

Amtrak's website for reservations used to be pretty straightforward but today I drove myself to insanity trying to make it work for me. After many attempts to secure a reservation I gave up and called their 800 number. It was a bit of a wait but MUCH easier and got it done in about 7 minutes with a friendly operator. FIX YOUR WEBSITE AMTRAK! IT'S AWFUL!

Tried checking train ticket prices on their website. Spent some time trying a bunch of different things to get it to display train options, but it just brought me back to the same page. Finally gave up and booked a plane ticket instead. Probably cheaper than Amtrak too. Amtrak is worthless

I get the fact transportation can be delayed. What I cant get over is the filth on Amtrak trains. The last 3 times I wenr between Rixhmond Va and D.C. I felt like I was traveling in a nasty bathroom. The odor throughout all cars was eye watering. Not sure I can handle another train ride.

This has been one of the worst travel experiences of my life. This sad excuse for a company has managed to turn a 5 1/2 HR train ride into an 11 HR stress fest. We sat motionless on the tracks at one point for 3 hrs. Constant stopping for no apparent reason with no explanation. Staff isn't so friendly either. I will never do business with this company again. You have ruined our sons birthday, thanks for that.

Worst form of transportation ever!! Train was late, kept making random stops on track for 5-10 mins periodically, staff was rude, Im still not to my destination at 10:17pm and I left at 4pm, a 3 hr trip in the car, and apparently it's gonna take an extra hour and half to get from kannapolis to charlotte- normally 15-30mins bc something is wrong w the tracks so we are moving at 7mph

i am a 17 year old girl with diabetes. my train was 30 min late. when i boarded i asked an employee where the cafe cart was. he told me i was supposed to find a seat first. i explained to him i couldn't wait bc i felt fain and needed to eat. he didn't respond. i had just gotten my food and sat down when he came by with another employee "i guess you never listen, ur bag is here so u didn't get a seat first" his coworker laughed. i felt humiliated. i told him i didn't feel comfortable leaving my luggage and laptop for anyone to take. i also explained that the train delay put me behind schedule and i needed to eat. he continued to be confrontation even after i moved my luggage. i felt like it was uncalled for. he is a grown man and a professional. he should have taken a professional tone and not caused a scene. he approached me in a very confrontation way and was a bully. im a teenager hes a grown man in his 40's he should know better
