I booked a ticket from san bernardino ca to modesto a nine hour trip, when recieving confirmation there was a notice that "all food service will be paid by debit or credit card no cash" anticipating a snafoo I brought along a Nissan cup a soup expecting hot water readily available, 6 hours into my trip I am feeling the effects of not eating all day I venture to the cafe, low and behold
NO FOOD SERVICE!!!!!!! Worse yet no hot water and conductors refused to heat my cup of soup in either of the two readily available micro waves and was made an example of by the conductor who while announcing the next stop informed the entire train that anyone disembarking to purchase snacks or food would be left behind adding
"There is no food or snacks available" this is pathetic if I manage to make the last three hours without complications I will be surprised, I called the customer service line and the response I received was and I quote
" And what is it you would like me to do?
