Late service. Poor communication

2 train rides into a 4 ride trip. 1st ride was 6 1/2 hours late.

The station closed 4 hours before the train arrived with no access to restrooms or water. There were no updates from Amtrak for over 4 hours. 2nd ride was 3 hours late leaving the station 2 hours after boarding. My wife needed water to take medication, but the cafe was closed.

Two employees refused to help even find a cup. However, a third employee provided a bottle of water.

Overall my experience was positive for my first rail travel. what is note worthy is the absence of assistance when boarding and un-boarding .

Especially when luggage is involved. I am traveling with three other women on the Zephyr and on the Chief. about 75% of the time no one assisted with the luggage or get up and down the step at the car.

The other issue is the lack of availability of cups and water 24 hrs The same with coffee. On an overnight ride one should not have to wait until 6:00 for coffee.

Train is very cold, like someone is freezing up meat. Get thick blanket, a hat

Seat are not comfortable

You cannot hear the announcement properly to know from which you are getting off at.

The agents working on board are very rude and not accommodating.

Customer Service

I contacted customer service to inquire about upgrading my seat choice, when the customer service agent answer after 25 mins there were several issues: (1) could barely hear the gentleman, (2) he acted like he didn't want to be on the phone, (3) provided my reservation number and the call was rerouted to the survey.

After 25 mins waiting I have to call again and wait for another 25 mins - unacceptable.

Although Amtrak does provide reliable transportation, there was no air conditioning in the car I was in. It's ridiculous how Amtrak can't have air conditioning in all of their cars.

5-6+ hours. No air conditioning.

Quiet Car

When is Amtrak going to provide more signage on the Quiet Car??? People cannot stop talking, but in fairness, the signage is sparse, so they may not know.

I generally enjoy the train, but am hesitant to stay anything for fear of being harmed. The conductors should circulate more often.

Amtrak - Left us at the train station, even saw us with luggage, had been waiting on late...

Amtrak to arrive at 1:22 with a one-hour layover. When we showed up in Hastings at 2:53, we immediately walked to get on.

They saw us. A couple before us barely got in the door. Despite looking right at us, they pulled away. You have broken the heart of our granddaughter.

We won't see her graduate. It's unbelievable.

We sat there from 9:30 pm and you have taken so much away from our family. A $500.00 loss, and you probably won't even care.

Customer service was terrible. The only one who cared about passengers was Frank.

Staff is a liar

June 23, 2024 train 307 from Chicago to St. Louis.

All passengers received a text about a delay from 7:10 to 8:00 pm. The train actually left 7:20. No apologies. I went to train station where 5 min before the departure but the staff didn't let me in.

I had to spend 350 USD for a plane ticket. For the ,,first Country,, in the world, this is a shame service.

Update reservations

Very uncomfortable ride.To many stops. Uncleanness in bedroom and bathroom.

Tried to get a different and quicker reservation and was not able to. I have back problems and the long drive was very hard on me. No one told me when I made the reservations I could have made them with less stops. My 1st ever vacation and I told the representative that when I made the reservations so I am not happy about the lack of accommodating I did not receive.

I have no choice to go back the same way we came but am very nervous about the trip back. However the attendants were wonderful and accommodating.

My sister was supposed to be in Williston at 7:10 PM, its now 1:50 because they stopped in Trenton to wait for a new crew to take over. A 3 hour delay waiting on a crew.

COMPLETELY BS ! They are still not here.

SCREW AMTRAK. They will never get my service.

Forfeited $150 because original traveler hated the travel experience and NO longer wants to travel

Horrible when it comes to cancelled travel.

Received a voucher that has to be used by the original traveler though I bought the ticket! My son was so anxious on the ride he COULD NOT take the return and now I learn that I have to forfeit 150 dollars and CANNOT redeem it though I am the purchaser.

Foolishness, just rubbish, its a money grab. I will NEVER again!!
