Change reservation

I was on hold for almost 15 minutes and then disconnected I am trying to add two people to my travel plans and it wont allow me to on my reservation

Horrible - Ive been on the phone for 4 hours and 15 minutes trying to book travel. When an agent finally answers, I cant get him to actually even book the travel

Worst trip ever

Roughest ride ever. Will never ride Amtrak again. Went from Denver to Chicago. Will never recommend Amtrak.

Train broke down from Chicago 352

To complain it was the worst trip ever a ride from Chicago to Ann Arbor took 10 hours instead of 5 the train left. Chicago at 1:25 and broke down in Hammond Indiana for 2 hours until the 3:59 train came with an engine to help us get moving I missed all the family graduation the party everything. was over. The train was hot they gave us water which was hot and snack packs . The staff was very apologetic but I fault the company old people like me love the train I am 65 and have only have sight in one eye because of an injury. Please contact me

To find the amount of a round-trip from Baltimore Maryland to Los Angeles California and back

Havent heard anything , Left a message with my request for knowledge about a round-trip ticket and havent heard anything in almost 2 hours. If I dont hear tomorrow I guess I will try again. Its very hard to make a planned trip when nobody gets back to you

At this point they suck

I have gotten nothing but the run around. I want to surprise my husband and go up to connecticut i have had nothing but trouble with amtrak. got my travel plans put cant get it paid. i got gift cards like you suggested still cant get it paid at this point you should give me the trip for free. im 79 and my husband is 80. i have been sent here there and everywhere you can think of. we are to leave the 18th of june and return july 23. someone please get back to me ASAP I want this taken care of NOW. time is running out. Bad service

Yes Bad service this was my first time taking Amtrak I took a train from New York to Pittsburgh while I was in New York station a good woman that works there but not for the Amtrak yes for New Jersey transportation or whatever was very nice to me as well as to my company but on the other hand there was an Amtrak lady in the lobby where are you going to go to the gates is a woman dad is very disrespectful she has no class she dont knows how to deal with public. Very preponderant very dictatorship and with a night or two uncalled for

Letting the World Know

Amtrak runs as well as any government organization- poorly! Our trip to Portland and back from San Jose was quite disappointing, after seeing ads about the coastal route. Windows, floors, carpets, walls, were all dirty. The bathrooms were right out of airplane land, old as the 70s, perhaps. Food service was warmed up, prepackaged food, no service. One leg of the trip, it came in a white bag, handed over for us to unpack. For breakfast, the same service consisted of everyone selecting their breakfast packages of oatmeals and yogurts from one table. So much for guest separation during COVID. So much for table service. This was a bad cafeteria on wheels. Dont travel by Amtrak.

Starving

I booked a ticket from san bernardino ca to modesto a nine hour trip, when recieving confirmation there was a notice that "all food service will be paid by debit or credit card no cash" anticipating a snafoo I brought along a Nissan cup a soup expecting hot water readily available, 6 hours into my trip I am feeling the effects of not eating all day I venture to the cafe, low and behold NO FOOD SERVICE!!!!!!! Worse yet no hot water and conductors refused to heat my cup of soup in either of the two readily available micro waves and was made an example of by the conductor who while announcing the next stop informed the entire train that anyone disembarking to purchase snacks or food would be left behind adding "There is no food or snacks available" this is pathetic if I manage to make the last three hours without complications I will be surprised, I called the customer service line and the response I received was and I quote " And what is it you would like me to do?

Best to pack some sandwiches and apples and fresh fruit and drinks on your Amtrak ride. The prices of the food and drink in the Cafe car are Highway robbery, only over the rails so I guess yoy could say they are train robbery prices.

I once paid Amtrak's high prices for a sandwich and snapple on my train ride from Oakland to Bakersfield and I vowed never again.

I recently rode Amtrak from New Orleans to Lafayette and I enjoyed some fruit cups and an apple on my ride. I was very hungry and would have very much have enjoyed getting a sandwich and a drink from the cafe car, but I didn't want to let them rip me off.

Our special trip from Glenwood Springs to Emeryville was horrible. The train was overfilled by Train Jam. No place to move other than stay in our seat.

We wanted a nice special train trip where we could experience the historical tracks and scenery of the intercontinental railroad. Because of Train Jam we never want to use Amtrak again. Dead

User's recommendation: Don't use Amtrak. Filthy bathrooms, crowded trains with Train Jam people, and the trapped feeling of being stuck in horrible surroundings.

Amtrak - FOOD SERVICE
I was on the train recently and Amtrak has implemented a policy of "cashless" food service. While I know that during these times of crisis we all need to take measures to protect ourselves, denying people of basic service is not acceptable. I do not have a credit card and have no problem paying for my purchases with cash anywhere I go. When I get to the train and wish to buy a cup of coffee and the person behind the counter says "sorry...credit cards only" I get pretty steamed. I had to starve between Washington and New York. Thank you Amtrak for taking the "Customer" out of "Customer Service"!

Prepare for the worst

I was riding the Amtrak from Glenview, il. to Redwing, Minnesota a couple of days ago. I paid for a ticket for my King Charles Cavalier ( 13 pounds). After over 4 hours, we were coming into Winona, which is the only stop where passengers can smoke, walk outside a little, or take their dogs out. When we were almost there, I took my sleeping dog out of her carrier and put her on my lap so I could put on her jacket and leash. Along comes conductor Shorter and tells me that because the dog is out of the carrier, I have to leave the train. AND he calls for a police escort! I have to add that getting on the train (I didn’t ask for help) with the dog, carrier, and suitcase was difficult And I accidentally left my purse on the platform. So.....I’m in Winona, without money,phone, or ID. It’s nighttime, there’s no attendant in the station, and I am a 72 year old woman. It took two hours for my friend to get there and then, another two hours to his house. It was a long, horrible day caused by a conductor who hates dogs, women, or both. (As for the purse, a woman on the train with me called her parents who went back to the depot, found my purse and overnighted it.)

That conductor should be fired and you should be awarded $10,000.00 in damages for your pain and suffering and for the rude and disrespectful way that you were treated. Plus you should be given free Amtrak tickets for life in your own private sleeping car whenever available, and you should be free to take along your pooch with you on the trip. Also you should be given a sincere apology.

Amtrak suck

On June 8 2019 me in my husband decided to take the train to Miami to catch our flight out the country.Big mistake the train was late to pick us up. It was supposed to be a 20 hr train ride, that was a lie. We boarded the the at 10 at night.we was supposed to be in Miami by 6/9/2019 at 6 our train was leaving at 8 sad to say we ended up getting of the train somewhere in Florida to Uber like 130 to 2 hours to Miami so we wouldn’t miss our plane. Amtrak say the would refund $76 of my money to me not even what we had to paid Uber which was more smh I was ok with even though it took my from my trip. Well now it’s a problem again i called last week when we got back n the country, this week it’s all kind of *** for my money to be returned to my card. This is the first and last time we will ever ride a train

Well, it could have been worse. You could have taken the Greyhound Bus. I have known many passengers (myself included) who were so disgusted with everything that they got off of the bus and hitch-hiked the rest of the way to their destination, and got there alot quicker than if they had stayed on that dog.

Amtrak Website Sucks

Been trying for an hour to buy tickets on there website. Have gotten no where. Been trying to get tickets from Providence to Washington. Looks like I’ll be driving.

I PUT 80 YR OLD ON TRAIN FROM FT. WORTH TO SAN MAECUS. TX. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

TRAIN WAS SUPPOSED TO GET IN AT 7.15PM CENTRAL TIME DIDNT GET IN UNTIL 11.PM. NO HELP FROM SERVICE PEOPLE AND BRO IS NEARLY BLIND. JUST BAD SERVICE AND HELP DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHERE TRAIN WAS. BAD COMPANY FOR HELP IF U NEED HELP. HE WAS JUST PICKED UP BY FRIEND. THEY R ALSO GIVING GUY FROM POLAND RIDE TO NEW BRAUNFELS. TO FIND HOTEL. THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. AMTRACK NEEDS PEOPLE AT STATIONS TO HELP TRAVELLERS WHEN TRAINS ARE LIKE 4 HOURS LATE. I AM SO MAD AND WAS SO WORRIED AND TALKING TO PEOPLE AT AMTRACK JUST A WASTE OF TIME.
