Amtrak - Train Service Review from Kalamazoo, Michigan
My last ride on Amtrak was horrible. Going to Atlanta was good belive or not the station needed much repairs to be in such a large city the employees were so kind and nice.My daughter who is a reporter there was running late to pick me up due to a large story that had to be reported. The employees were so caring and check on me often while I had to wait.Being a Senior in Atlanta train station . Anyway my return trip to Charlottesville was a different story. There was a couple with a baby that boarded Atlanta to Vhville. The baby cried from 9pm- 4am. I understand it can happen but No one Amtrak personnel came to check or move the couple. Then I sit beside a LARGE gentleman who snored until his stop in North Carolina, then a young lady sat beside me the last part of the trip who smelt like a cigarettes factory. I had asked a Amtrak personal if i could sit in one of the emptyseats until the passanger came but No chance in that. Just had to vent about my experience this last time. Im getting ready to go back to Atl. Next month. Wonder how this experience will be. Over all I really like traveling Amtrak.

Amtrak - Train Service Review from Flint, Michigan
I would like to know why Amtrak Train Doesn't have Handicapped Service when boarding and Unboarding the train Handicapped People Need to get on First like they use to do ?? I rode Amtrak Train to Union Station 7-16-2015 with my Mother.I saw several people who Needed Help.Red Cap vDriver are in such a Rush that they Don't Give People a change to know where they need to be. And the Head of Amtrak Rules Book Should Pray he or she never be in that situation. How thought less to Handicapped People I saw a older man fall missing the last step to get off the train at Union station . One of the worker's did ask him did he want to go to the Hospital Good job on his part but the man said no. And I ask him are you sure. We left on time from where me and my mother departed that morning but was still 2 hours late getting to Union Station . I can back on 7-18-2015 and the train was delayed for 1 hour and a half so I didn't reach my destination on time. Now I can Understand that. But PLEASE WORK BETTER AT UNDERSTANDING WHEN PEOPLE ARE HANDICAPPED OKAY.

Amtrak in Lansing, Michigan - Train was late leaving destination.Return trip rerouted from gate to gate.
Left East Lansing. Michigan May 16,2014 at 9:50 am instead of 8:45am.Then when I left Chicago heading to St. Louis we had to sit on the tracks until they could reroute us through a scenic route.So I end up arriving to St. Louis an hour and fifteen minutes late.On May 19,2014 on my way back from St. Louis to Michigan when I arrived in Chicago.I went to information to ask where the train to East Lansing ,Michigan was boarding.You wont beleive all the different gates a was sent to lugging to big duffle bags.To finally be told that the train was be rerouted because of all the people going to Michigan.So then a end lugging my way to the Great Hall.I was so upset from all the walking a had to do.My first time taking Amtrak,because Im scared to fly.After this experience I just might take my chances in the sky.Other than that the ride was nice.All that un necessary walking with my heavy bags and the lateness is what got to me.
Ticket Booking Review
Just had my very first experience with Amtrak. I called to book my ticket and waited on on hold for the next available person. Well she answered screaming at me I couldn't get a word in. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up on me. Wow guess I will never travel with Amtrak.
My son and I went to NY on the lakeshore limited #48, on the way the dining car staff was rude and used profanity in front of my son! we never did receive the meals which were prepaid/included in the price I paid for our room. On the return trip on the lakeshore #49...
Amtrak in Flat Rock, Michigan - Pissed Customer
Terrible attitude. Poor customer service. This train company is a joke. We left out on July 31, 2011 driving to Chicago to make a connection to Denver, Colorado at 2:00 p.m. We had a prior experience on Amtrak to Chicago two weeks prior in which the train was 5 hours late getting into Chicago because of speed restrictions, etc. As a result, the train we were to catch happened to be on time, but in the meantime we were out of $200 for renting a car one way to make sure we made that connection. The California Zephyr which was our next connection to Denver ended up being 2 hours late, but had a sleeper car malfunction thus we waited in the station for 6 hours. The employees that worked that day were very rude to us, especially to those of us which were trying to charge our cell phones. It was just a horrible experience that I do not want to go through again and coming back we had sort of the same scenario. Amtrak definitely needs some changes in the system because we just caught pure dee ***.
Amtrak in Grand Rapids, Michigan - Family stranded in Denver!!
We had tickets last week to return home from Denver, CO to Michigan last Thursday. We arrived at the station 2 hours prior to departure time. The station was empty. The desk person told us the train was canceled for August 3 and and 4th. The next train to MIchigan was for August 7, but it was filled. We had to take a cab to the Denver airport ($72)to get a car rental. We went to 4 car rentals and they were sold out until 8/9/11. Finally, a car rental took advantage of us and rented us a car for $785 (for 24 hrs) to Chicago. $121 of gas to reach Chicago. We then took the Amtrak from Chicago to Michigan. We used Amtrak for the first time for this vacation. NEVER AGAIN!!! Amtrak told us they would reimburse us the train ticket fee, and that they had the right to cancel the train. So, instead of a $240 train ticket, we were out almost $1000. Thanks! We have a son going to college and were trying to save money on this trip!! THINK TWICE about using Amtrak!!
Amtrak very rude on the phone
I reserved a ticket on Amtrak but I am considering canceling my reservation. I called to ask a simple question but the woman on the on the phone was very rude and a basic ***.
