My girlfriend and I are disabled, and while Amtrak did provide us a good spot on the train, I was very disappointed with the facilities. First of all, the car they put us in had fluorescent lights overhead, which they did not dim at all.
So, it was very difficult to get any sleep.
The car above was dark and quiet, but there were no bathrooms upstairs. It was just a bad way to travel.

Amtrak policies are messed up every year they actually the government to bail them out taxpayers money goes to Amtrak after they messed up they don't know how to run a business I was late for a train they don't want to give me another ticket for a later date just took my money 3 minutes late I will never buy another ticket from Amtrak and anybody that I know that's going to get on the train in the future I will deter them to do so not bye take it from Amtrak

I had a horrible experience yesterday. They have no respect for disabled people.
I have RA and Fibromyalgia, and the conductor was the worst on train 710: rude, argumentative, and could care less about the disabled. To top it off, the insurance is a joke. Don't pay The Allianz TravelSmart; it's a waste of money. Go read the Yelp reviews.
I regret that I purchased it...
I will never do it again. I learned the hard way.

Howdy: I would like to express my appreciation to J. McClora, a ticket agent at Union Station in DC.
She was friendly, respectful, tolerant of my hearing problem.
Not only that she told me how to get from Union Station to Baltimore..
Even told me how to get from Adams Morgan to Union Station by public transport instead of walking hauling my backpack.
I am from Bend, Oregon and know little if anything about navigating my way around DC on foot.
Such a jewel of a lady. AMTRAK should be proud to have her as an employee.
Make sure she knows how much I appreciate her.

I cherished the number one when I first rode Amtrak. Everything was great: the seats were fine, the curtains were great, and the customer service was superb.
This impression remained steadfast through our trip. My wife and I had to depart from Oregon to whichever train station we were at.
From there, our journey began and we ventured to places we had probably never been. Everything was wonderful, even despite having to sleep in the lobby for 24 hours.

My bus was 3 hours late and never arrived and when I called customer service for a refund and credit they refused. I am very disappointed in Amtrak and how unreliable it is.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. It’s fine now, I think.
No air conditioning was in the car I used, but I managed to get a seat in a car with air conditioning. I recently wrote a bad review about the air conditioning in the car I was in, but I'm happier now that I have a car with air conditioning.

Three aggravating hours of continuous glitches using website verification codes! Ugh.
:( I tried typing it, I tried copying and pasting, but it still kept coming back with an error message saying incorrect match.
Then, after that, I decided to call for assistance and was on hold for approximately 20 minutes. I would advise that you just call in when you're ready to purchase because the online system is definitely testing my patience.

I will use their Yrain service but not their overpriced bus services
I paid EXTRA Money for a TRAIN ticket. I was very surprised that it was for a BUS! I could have bought a bus ticket for half the price.
Big rip off...sending people to the train station and putting them on a bus!

I'm a 77 year old women who recently moved from West Coast to Oklahoma,my brother who is 74 came to help me,because he did I wanted to pay for his way home paid $620 for ticket because of circumstances I had to cancel ticket did so 8 days in advance but they refuse to refund so I'm out $500 live on limited income can't afford this.

Whenever I travel from Winter Haven to Miami, there's a significant problem with the schedules. They're always late.
My last trip was a nightmare. The trip, which was scheduled to leave at 2:30, didn't depart until 7:30 at night, arriving at my destination at 11:00 due to mechanical problems at the West Palm Beach stop. Half the train cars were closed. I needed to eat, and the cafeteria was closed; the bathrooms were overflowing with urine.
The passengers act as if they're at home - they occupy seats with piles of packages and lie down as if they're in their beds. Their cell phones blare movies at full volume, and it's impossible to rest. I'm truly disappointed because I'm a regular patron of this service, and I don't travel for enjoyment but out of necessity. Additionally, the times I've requested a refund due to improper service, they've refused to comply.
It's shocking that a train service in the USA could be this poor. As a frequent user, it's disheartening to see how much the service has deteriorated.

Rude customer service
Amtrak customer service is terrible. I accidentally entered my email address wrong when I was booking my e ticket.
When I called them to correct it the lady on the other line said you wrote your email address alissacrowe.vom instead of com and started laughing. When I got mad as I should have for her laughing at me she muted the phone and left me on hold and just walked away. This is after being left on hold for half an hour. It took another half an hour for me to get ahold of someone and she was also rude.
She said there was no manager on duty and she acted put out when I wanted to tell her my complaint and rudely said that I already told her when I repeated myself. Why does every agent have to be rude and angry?
