Late train. Rude employees

My train was late leaving the station. I was also treated very rudely at the Chicago amtrak station as well as on the train and at the Cleveland station. Amtrak seems to have a policy of treating customers as they want to. I have called the customer complaint department numerous times and all they do is rush you off the phone. I am truly disgusted with thus company

Have tried 3 times to call Amtrak Rewards to transfer points on wife’s (now deceased) account to my (husband) account and call was dropped EACH time. Trying to get someone on the line is useless.

Tried to call Amtrak Rewards and agreed to the call back system.(1st mistake). The system called back in about an hour and promptly put me on hold for an indeterminate amount of time. When I finally got a human on the line I had to wait while they transferred me to Rewards who within minutes dropped the call, forcing me to go through the same song and dance two more times. As of this writing I STILL havent fully spoken to rewards department.

I give no stars to Amtrak. This automated attendant does not hear correctly and service reps give wrong departure information and flat out lie about information.

I had a reservation for today and the service rep gave me the wrong departure time so I missed my departure. I tried exchanging for another day and departure time but told they could do nothing about it. So I have called customer service and they have hung up on me and the computer has given out the wrong call back number. It's some shady operation going on with the company.

The audacity to charge for a train with no seating accomodations, but Amtrak feasts off of tax payer dollars so don't expect anything to change,save your money and fly.

You have false advertisements, if you are promoting special discounts you should also give the time frame or dates it is available. Otherwise it false advertisement to pretend it is always available.

I booked tickets online on February 1, 2024 for 7 adults and 1 child from New York to Philadelphia. I entered ages to take advantage of the discounts. The total fare showing online was approximately $321.00. I didn't look at the receipt immediately which was sent to me via email. My group was celebrating my 60th birthday in New York and New Jersey and I had a lot going on. A few days later, I look at my receipt and find out I was charged $651.20. I was shocked!!! Of course I called Amtrak and they give me a BS excuse. No way would I have booked those tickets for that amount. We had an option to rent cars, which would have been more cost effective. We would have just drove instead. Never, ever taking Amtrak again. My advice is to take a screen shot of what you are quoted online and look at your receipt immediatley.
