I saw that trains were being sold out quickly for Thanksgiving, so secured seats by buying two sets of tickets for different departures until my family finalized our plans. Today I received a voice mail from Amtrak saying that I had double booked and that they were arbitrarily canceling one set of tickets that very moment.
It turned out to be the wrong set. I was actually planning to cancel that set when I got home from work because my family had finally decided. HOW WOULD I KNOW AMTRAK DOESN'T ALLOW FOR DOUBLE BOOKING IF THEIR SYSTEM LETS ME DO IT??
I HAD PAID IN FULL FOR BOTH RESERVATIONS!! Couldn't they at least have given me time to call back?!
