Amtrak took my money but didnt give me confirmation info

I am on the phone on hold, its been over an hour because they took my money but didnt give me a reservation number three weeks ago

Amtrak has no record of my ticket purchases despite taking all of my info and credit card number!!!!

Not sure if ticket purchase went throughreservation for November 21 and returning November 29 from Penn station to Peachtree Station in Georgia and from Peachtree Station Georgia to Penn station roomett both ways all booked this afternoon with someone named Sam!! I was told tonight by Amtrak that there is no record of my ticket purchases or my credit card payment!! My accommodations are no longer available either!! I am so disgusted and happy angry!!!!!

Couldn't get a real person on phone

I tried calling customer service to ask a question. Never got a real person to talk to. Gave up after trying other methods.

Bad service

Traveled from Jacksonville to Tampa ( Silver Star). Late leaving station....late tranferring track near Kissime to from CSX lines. Late for a mexical issue of passenger, ...late entering Tampa terminal. 2 hours 45 minutes late in total. No apology, no refund, no comp or discounts for poor service. Crazy late service is not acceptable. The mecical issue was unavaidable. That only accounted for About 45 minutes of the diaster. The 2 hours was Amtrak self afflicted bad service.

Initially, I wanted to go online and make the changes to my reservation, but the website and the App allow you to change the date ONLY, not the time and the destination. I needed to change my outbound from NYP to ALB instead of NYP to SAR. The website and App are NOT convenient and user-friendly. I should be able to make the changes without having to call customer service. Lastly, I had to bite the bullet and call our customer service, and still, I have been on hold for 1hr and 44 minutes!!! Amtrak needs to do a better job in making the online and APP user-friendly. It will be 2 hours and I'm still on hold. Pretty depressing

Amtrak Website

Amtrak had a decent website 10 years ago. What happened? The last 2 times I've tried to book a trip the website has made it impossible to complete the process. I have had to finish the process on the telephone. The recording that one must talk to, often can't understand what is being said or doesn't wait to hear what is said in reply. The customer ends up needing a call back from a real person to get everything straight. We used to love traveling by Amtrak, but a terrible booking process makes it not worth the effort. If Amtrak were a private business, competition would not let it survive for very long.

Making reservations

Ive had the worse experience trying to make reservations. Impossible to get some help. Was not able to get reservations for travel this Friday.

Tried several times today, October 24, to book a simple trip from San Diego to Santa Barbara. What a waste. I agree, the site is pathetic. Third World country crap

Phone Callback Service

Called - requested call back. Hour and 20 minutes later...call back, then put on hold for 25 min. Hung up. Call Amtrak again, requesting a call back. Over an hour later, call back - then put on hold again with music and apologies for unexpected wait time...again. But after 20 minutes I gave up and will try again another day. Hint: I was trying to add a person to my roomette I had booked. Can't do it online. Thanks for wasting my time and giving me more reasons to hate Amtrak.

User's recommendation: Build a competitive railroad or buy the rights out from under Amtrak and do it right. They can't.

Tried to reach a customer service representative for pricing and reservations...wait time was too long and Julie automated rep was not helpful.

Excellent

On Sunday train 79 to Durham NC Conductor Kelly encountered an unruly passengers who did not get of the train in time they demanded she stop the train and let them off, as she proceeded to reassure the customers all is well she was then somehow able to have the couple sit and stop ranting and raving about stop this ---- train and let me the ------ of at the next stop the police where waiting and we went our merry way I do commend her cool composure and did not edge them on just let the police handle, the rest of the ride was 2hour late not due to the disruption by them.

Speak to someone about a fraudulent purchase

Received great help from a young lady named Stephanie. Awesome customer service. She put me in touch with the D.C. Amtrak police. The Amtrak D. C. Police (Officer Robb) were just as helpful !!! I am a 76 year senior and this is the 1st time a fraud ever happened to me. Keep up the good work.
